Volunteer / Entertainment

Did you know that the YMCA is volunteer founded and volunteer led?

We rely on our volunteers to help with our efforts in the community. Hundreds of volunteers are needed for this event! Have fun while helping the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana!

If your youth group, service organization or others would be interested in this fun and beneficial opportunity, please contact:

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Traffic Control – This is a three to four hour commitment. Help ensure the safety of the runners while cheering and having a great time.

Water stations – This is approximately a two hour commitment. Pass out water to the race participants.

Finish Line – This is approximately a three hour commitment. Pass out goodies at the finish, help cut chips off of the runners’ shoes, or hand out medals to finishers.

Goodie Bags/Expo – These are volunteer opportunities prior to race day. Help fill goodie bags or work a registration table.

Entertainment on the Half Marathon Course is invaluable to runners and walkers. Every year we hear heartwarming comments about how the “Rocky theme song” or the “Boom Squad’s upbeat rhythms” helped someone get through a tough spot in the race. Join the thousands of runners and hundreds of volunteers in the Evansville Half Marathon by providing entertainment on the course. It is a great way to be seen and to create a great experience and positive vibes for the participants. We (the YMCA) and the participants will truly appreciate your efforts!

If your group or club, garage band or cheer squad would like to provide entertainment on the Half Marathon course, please contact our entertainment coordinator at craven@ymcaswin.org.
